India’s fight against COVID-19 is truly people driven says PM Modi

The novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, pandemic has spread across 185 countries and territories. Today is the thirty-third day of India’s nationwide lockdown, which has been extended till May 3. Confirmed COVID-19 cases in India stand at 26,496. The death toll from the outbreak in India is at 824. Maharashtra, Gujarat and Delhi have reported the highest number of cases.

Globally, there have been over 28.9 lakhs confirmed cases of COVID-19. At least two lakh people have died so far. The United States, Spain, Italy, France, Germany and the UK are the most-affected countries. The outbreak continues to have a major impact on the global economy.

As PM Modi addressed in the session with Mann Ki Baat 2.0 amid the lockdown beginning with the statement offering that India’s fight against the coronavirus is truly people-driven. May it be a city or a village, it feels like everyone is willing to contribute. Our farmers are making sure that the country does not go hungry. This fight is being fought by the people and the administration together. Every citizen is fighting this war as a soldier. PM Modi states that every individual is a corona warrior as somewhere each and everyone has contributed to keep the life of themselves as well as others in a safe position. Those who aren’t following the laid rules of the lockdown have to suffer to survive and there is not any help PM Modi could provide.

The government has created a platform — — to link people and the administration. Medical workers are also involved. The tech- driven actions taken by government to keep the public updated are commendable ; The Setu App and now Volunteers of social organisation, civil society and local administration are connected through this platform. 1.25 crore people including doctors, nurses and NCC cadets have also joined this platform.

Be it our businesses, office culture, education or medical sector — everyone is adapting to new changes in a post-coronavirus world. Each person is trying to fight this war according to their capacity. Some are waiving off house rent and some laborers who are in quarantine at a school are whitewashing the school.

Central government, state governments and every department and institution today is working together for relief at full speed. The world has recognised India’s efforts to help several nations during this coronavirus pandemic. In conclusion Modi says we are witnessing what the country can achieve when we fight as one. Hence PM Modi says that India would not possibly be safe without the support of people as to manage the population of 1.3 billion people and that is why this fight against this pandemic is people driven.
