Are you ready for jungle-themed puns and Disneyland friends? The Jungle Cruise movie is all set to enter theatres in 2020, starring Disney picks Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt.
The Jungle Cruise movie is inspired by the Disneyland ride. Johnson will play a boat skipper named Frank who takes Blunt’s role Lily and her brother McGregor is being played by British stand-up comedian Jack Whitehall, who you may remember from the Good Omens series on Amazon Prime who are on a mission to find a tree that has mysterious restorative capabilities.
The following characters will be seen onscreen:
- The Rock as Frank
- Emily Blunt as Lily Houghton
- Jack Whitehall as McGregor Houghton
- Raphael Alejandro as Zaqueu
- Andy Nyman as Sir James Hobbs-Coddington
- Simone Lockhart as Anna
- Sulem Calderon as Quila
Disney’s full-length trailer for Jungle Cruise was first seen on Oct. 11. Which kicked off with a scene suggestive of both Indiana Jones and The Mummy, where Blunt’s character Lily takes a mislabelled artefact from a collection in London and escapes onto an open-top bus filled with soldiers. The moment we face The Rock’s jungle cruise captain character Frank, it appears he’s engaged skills and guidance from Amazonians to make his visitor cruise down the river more “thrilling.”
