WandaVision another addition to Marvel Cinematic Universe on small screen: Story, Cast, Crew and Release Date


Wandavision is an upcoming television web series made for Disney. The series is a sequel to the Avengers -Endgame and a prequel to Doctor Strange in the Multi Universe of Madness. It is produced in the Marvel Studios and directed by Matt Shakman.

The story of the series is to revolve around two super-powered beings Wanda Maximoff and Vision. After the endgame, everyone thinks that things have got back into place and everyone goes back to their normal living. But Wanda and Vision begin to suspect that things are not as sorted as they seem them to be and suspect that something is wrong. It is made in the same way as any Marvel Cinematic Universe would make it.

The confirmed cast of the show include-

  • Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch
  • Paul Bettany as Vision
  • Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau
  • Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis
  • Randall Park as Jimmy Woo
  • Kathryn Hahn as Agnes

Feige describes the series as a “classic sitcom” as a part of Marvel’s epic. And showed a teaser of the same combing the Marvel Cinematic Universe filming Wanda and Vision. Filming began late in November 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. The series packed the shooting on March 1 this year and the production was to renew on March 14 but was stopped due to the widespread of coronavirus pandemic.

The music for the series is to be composed by Christophe Beck who also composed music for Ant-man and Ant-man and the Wasp.

Bettany called the series “super avant-garde and weird”, while Olsen added that there were “plenty of comic books that support” the characters appearing in a sitcom setting. Olsen also indicated that there were ongoing discussions regarding whether the series would use a laugh track.

The series is to release late in December this year and is going to stream on only one platform that is Disney+ for now. The season will have 6 episodes which are to release weekly rather at all once. The series was initially set to release in the early 2021 but considering viewer’s curiosity and wish to see it they changed the release date. WandaVision will be the part of Phase Four of the MCU.
