A Discovery of Witches is a British Television Program based on a trilogy written by Deborah Harkness and the first season is based on the first book named “All Souls”. It was first premiered in UK in Sky One on 14th September 2018. The first season consisted of 8 episodes.

The story revolves around a girl called Diana Bishop, a historian and reluctant witch, unexpectedly discovers a bewitched manuscript in Oxford’s Bodleian Library. After this discovery she is forced to go back into her world of magic in order to uncover the secrets that hold her magic being. She is offered help by a mysterious geneticist and vampire Matthew Clairmont. After a long term of mistrust between the vampires and witches they form an alliance and set out to protect the book and solve the mysteries behind it by dodging the threats of the real world. It become easier for them when they work together . it becomes beneficial for her as it is no big deal for Matthew to time travel and for Diana to search for the key to understand her legacy.

The release date of the second season is not revealed yet but the audience is all pinned up for the season after the huge success of season one. The release date is delayed due to the  outbreak of the Corona Virus Pandemic.

Discovery of Witches

The second and the third series of the  show are to follow the second and third sequel of the book written by Deborah which are the “Shadow of Night” and “The Book of Life”.

In the beginning of 2019 Palmer told Collider that filming was kicking off in July that same year but after two weeks she again tweeted saying that the shooting was still under process. Under such circumstances it is not easy to guess the status of the production of the series. There has also been no mention about the trailer reveal.
