The Steam Hardware Survey was shaken when it was found that about 1 Million users have VR headsets connected.
It seems that April was an appealing month for VR, according to Steam’s Hardware Survey about 950,000 headsets use have increased than the prior month. The record rise was due to the release of Half-Life: Alyx, a shooter which is perhaps the highest-profile release to date on a VR platform. According to the Steam community, 2.7 million users (1.91%) of Steam users had their headsets connected with the Steam in April. However, the records don’t reflect the actual use of the headsets that were made.
The Steam Hardware Survey is the largest single survey of hardware among PC gamers. Last year there was a rise of AMD processors, which was evident from the Hardware Surveys that were made by the Steam community. The hike in the increase in VR usage was predictable, but this amount of increase was not expected.
