Bajaj Auto : The Coronavirus Pandemic has had deep impacts on the sales of two-wheelers in the country. The nationwide lockdown has made manufacturers temporarily reduce or stop production as well as shut dealerships. Which has led to several market players reporting zero-unit sales in the domestic markets.
Bajaj Auto has clocked nil sales in the Indian market in April 2020 as against the sale of 2,05,875 units in April 2019.
Not only domestic market but also international markets are at a decline. During the same period, the Pune-based two-wheeler brand exported 32,009 units in April 2020 as against 1,60,393 two-wheelers in April last year. Talking about three wheelers the company exported 5,869 in April 2020 in comparison to 30,818 units sold in during the same time last year.
It is unlikely for the saled to gain momentum due to the lockdown extension. The lockdown in the country has been extended until 17 May 2020. Apart from Bajaj Auto, brands like Royal Enfield, TVS Motor Company and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, too, are stressed due to zero sales in the Indian domestic market.
