Intel is world’s largest semiconductor maker. It is now under pressure to ramp up production to meet the ever increasing demand for its products.
However, Intel is accused for compromising workers safety at a few of its locations in order to keep chip production undisturbed. The people who work at a one of its plants located at Arizona said that the company for not isolate staff that worked closely with Co-members who had tested positive and did not Institute tests. Moreover, factory managers didn’t follow the social distancing guidelines properly.
A lot of virus related concerns were also filled to state agencies that are responsible for regulating workplace safety.
To all this havoc, the company said it responded with novel policies to encounter problems arising on account of employee safety and kept factory output high because it produces essential products. Darcy Ortiz, vice president and general manager of corporate services within Intel’s manufacturing organisation,said “We completely understand that people would be concerned. We have a strong safety culture. We have provided means for people to escalate issues. We welcome that. ”
According to the company, there has been no positive case reports at the facility by far.
