AllStar : SNK, the Japanese video game has a long record in the industry. Last year, Terry Bogard grabbed a slot in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and now Terry will get an opportunity to fight against WWE wrestlers like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in The King of Fighters Allstar.
A free-to-play crossover of SNK and WWE mobile game was revealed via a teaser on 3rd May by the developer Korean studio Netmarble. The teaser claimed “the king of all updates” is something better to do than pillow fights at home. The full announcement video which is released on May 14th showcased the full roster of wrestlers with “recreated mannerisms and move-set” along with the gang of the beat-em-up RPG featuring the characters such as John Cena, The Rock, Undertaker, Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins.
It has been announced that alternate versions of The Rock and Kingston will also be given away as a free gift for whoever downloads the game till 3rd June, 2020. The game will have a WWE theme featuring a “Super Mission” to unlock the Rock, a “Rush Event Dungeon” to unlock Kingston, and a Roulette Wheel which can unlock a “Doctor of Thuganomics” to get Cena.
The executive producer of Netmarble, Shin Hwa Cho said that the crossover is “something truly special for us and the players” during the press release, as both the series were “entertaining people around the world for decades.” WWE has a huge record with the video gaming community.
Whereas, The King of Fighters Allstar had a character collecting titles much like the Nintendo’s Fire Emblem Heroes. The developers are continuously working on some new content. SNK at ENO 2019 announced that King of Fighters XV is undergoing development, but with a mystery release date.
The King of Fighters All Star is now playable on iOS and Android mobile devices.
